The 12th-century cathedral at Wells is famous for its massive "scissor arch", installed in 1338 to support the collapsing tower, and the 14th-century clockface, which still enthralls visitors today.

Michael Wood retraces the movements of the legendary Greek conqueror across 20,000 miles and 16 countries in another chance to view this four-part Odyssey.
In 334 BC, the 21-year-old Alexander set out from Greece to invade Asia and overthrow the Persian Empire. Michael Wood follows the army's march through Turkey to the Lebanese city of Tyre, scene of Alexander's most desperate battle, and the Egyptian oasis of Siwa, where Alexander was proclaimed Pharoah and Son of God. But he also hears another side to the story in the Palestinian legend of Alexander the two-horned devil.
