But despite a national crisis, which has seen food prices treble, Katya Titova, a young unemployed woman, and businessman Yuri Tarakanov are preparing for their respective marriages. Tim Whewell reports from a town in the grip of economic meltdown and hears from the local community, who talk about Russia's future.

The Storyville season of international documentaries continues with director Leslie
Woodhead's film which provides an insight into the Iranian hostage crisis of November 1979.
Then. militant Islamic students - angered by U S support for the Shah of Iran - invaded the American Embassy in Tehran, taking 52 diplomats hostage. For 444 days, the world watched helplessly as the United States attempted to free the diplomats in the face of Ayatollah Khomeini 's fervent anti-Americanism. Only after a botched rescue attempt, and President Carter's election defeat by Ronald Reagan , were the hostages finally freed.
The documentary hears from both hostages and their captors. Series editor Nick Fraser Subtitled.
