The Wine Revolution
In recent years the ranks oftraditional wine-making countries, such as France and Italy, have been augmented by less obvious producers: Chile, Australia and New Zealand. One of the people leading this multi-billion-pound wine revolution is a Briton and he is so successful at devising mass-production techniques that even the French have called him in for advice. Butwhilethe "new world" wines now on sale have proved popular with the consumer, traditionalists claim that they are made to bland uniform standards and that the whole nature of wine making is under threat.
