A Hidden Problem
'Distressing, demoralising and totally degrading.' One in three women suffers some form of incontinence in this country, and before Jill heard of the clinic run by Janet Blannin in Bath she was afraid to leave her house for fear of wetting herself in public.
Since 1977 nurses have been trained with the aim of helping the sufferers and educating the professionals.
There are now 103 continence advisers throughout the country, and Janet Blannin was one of the first.
