starring
Randolph Scott Joel McCrea
This masterly Peckinpah film stars veteran actors Randolph Scott and Joel McCrea as two ex-lawmen, down on their luck. The duo team up as guards to accompany a gold shipment from a remote mining town to a small town bank, but the job proves more dangerous than they anticipate. This classic Western takes a realistic - yet nostalgic-view of the old West and its values.

A frank account in 11 parts of life on the ocean wave in one of Her Majesty's ships - continues the Fly on the Wall season. 8: Florida, USA
After two months at sea, every man jack is out for a good time. Disney World, the beach, the pool, the swinging clubs of Jacksonville are all favourite haunts. But the flight-deck handlers turn from pleasures of the flesh. Keen ornithologists, they bird-watch among the snakes and alligators of the Everglades. L/STEWARD CONWAY has meanwhile crammed a wedding and a honeymoon into his three weeks. He leaves his new wife weeping on the quayside, as Ark steams off under the benign eye of the local police chief, who gives the British sailor ten out of ten for good behaviour.

The plants we grow in our gardens are some of the richest and most varied in the world, but very few of them are native to this country. So where do they come from? Who brought them? How have we changed them?

There are few plants which have contributed more to the beauty of our gardens than the delphinium. Hardly surprisingly Geoffrey Smith describes it as 'The queen of the herbaceous border.'
