3: Dinorwic Slate Quarry with Kenneth Hudson
Under the shadow of Snowdon stands a gaunt stone fortress but this building had no military purpose. It was, in fact, the head-quarters of the Dinorwic Slate Quarry. Here in this isolated valley was a totally self-contained industry which trained its own skilled men and maintained its own massive machines - the Welsh slate industry.

The programme includes recent work with Sir Peter Scott at
Slimbridge, with Philip Wayre at the Norfolk Wildlife Park, and in zoos and animal reservations in England, Sweden and Germany. Narrator FRANK GILLARD
