The battle of the leaders - the current holders of the League title, Lancashire are again challenging strongly for the top honours of the Sunday League and today they face their near neighbours Derbyshire, who have, somewhat surprisingly, been the pace-setters since the start of the season.

During today's tea interval, at approximately 4.0 pm, Lord's Taverner Leslie Crowther will read extracts from The Brighter Side of Cricket by R.C. Robertson-Glasgow.

David Vine introduces the programme which includes news of all today's other cricket fixtures: Hampshire v Middlesex, Northamptonshire v Warwickshire,
Nottinghamshire v Gloucestershire, Somerset v Glamorgan, Sussex v Essex,
Worcestershire v Leicestershire, Yorkshire v Kent

The hovercraft expedition has so far travelled 800 miles from the west coast of Africa to Bamako, capital of Mali. Tonight's programme, the second of three covering the progress of the hovercraft, follows the course of the expedition along the immense reaches of the Niger -the great river that divides the southern-most fringe of the Sahara Desert from the dark jungles of Africa.

The prosecution puts its case against Lauren Watson, the Black Panther charged with resisting arrest.
Principal witnesses called by attorney Wright Morgan are the arresting officer Cantwell, whom Watson suspects of harassing him to prevent him speaking at a Panther meeting, and Officer Frizzini.
Attorney Leonard Davies cross-examines the witnesses for the defence, and Judge Zita Weinshienk presides in this unique film of an actual trial taking place.
