A series of fourteen films looking at women in Britain today-their lives and their attitudes.

When a woman is deserted by her husband it takes guts and time to adjust to the isolated role of 'woman alone'. Diana Thompson was left with two sons, aged five and two. Yvonne Letherbarrow was left with three children. The two are friends. They live in council flats on National Assistance.
