In the final part of his journey
Dennis Marks reaches the remote edge of the Habsburg Empire in the dustytowns and muddy villages of the western Ukraine. He visits the dying communities of Russian old believers and Orthodox Jews in Bukovina and the birthplace of the great chronicler of the end of empire novelist Joseph Roth before returning to Vienna and the Capuchin crypt which houses the bones of all the Habsburg emperors.
