Michael Berkeley 's guest today is master goldsmith and jeweller Kevin Coates. He began his career as a professional musician, playing violin, mandolin and viola d'amore, but now pursues an equally exciting career designingjewellery, often incorporating objets trouves. Many of his exquisite pieces are inspired by musical themes, and some of his musical choices today are related to pieces in his current exhibition at the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh entitled Fragments: Pages Stolen from a Book of Time.
