Michael White explores the recorded legacy of the Festspielhaus at Bayreuth in Bavaria, where worshippers converge every summer to pay homage at the shrine of 'their beloved Wagner'. The theatre, originally a temporary structure, has been improved and strengthened over the years and has remained the home of Wagner performances ever since 1876.
