With Donald Macleod. Mozart once remarked, "I like an aria to fit a singer as a well-tailored suit of clothes." Since then great singers have been eager to try those clothes on, and in today's programme Donald Macleod listens to some of the great voices of the last 100 years, whose recordings have become classics of the catalogue. With contributions from Nellie Melba, Richard Tauber, Rita Streich, Fritz Wunderlich, Cecilia Bartoli and others, in performances from The Marriage of Figaro, Don Giovanni, The Magic Flute, Idomeneo and Cosi Fan Tutte.
