In past years, Michael Berkeley has encountered some extraordinary characters on Private Passions -the venerable Viennese percussionist and gambler Manfred Sturmer , the cocaine-smuggling operatic impresario Lady Pilar Woffington , and the homophobic conductor Sir Jimmy Disperin. In today's special session, he meets Don Maguire , an American performance artist and erstwhile colleague of Andy Warhol , whose musical choices include pieces by Copland, Ives, Philip Glass and John Cage - and the theme tune from Bonanza.
