An oratorio in three acts, with music by WillemdeFesch.
De Fesch, a Dutch composer, settled in London in the 1730s. His treatment of the Biblical story competed with Handel's for the attention of London audiences in 1745. The performance was recorded in the cathedral in Antwerp where de Fesch was director of music before he came to England.
