(People's Council) A political satire by GUNNAR HEIBERG translated from the Norwegian by IAN RODGER music specially composed by FREDERICK DELIUS with and The people are threatened by Invasion from a neighbouring country and. exasperated by their vacillating, self-seeking leaders, send them to lead the troops into battle. The music echoes the satire and Delius' use of the Norwegian National Anthem provoked riots in the Christiana Theatre at its first production in 1897 - leading to a pistol shot being fired. Ibsen was amused!
