In 1945 Leonard Mlall was appointed the BBC's Washington
Correspondent. He was there at the same time as Malcolm Muggeridge and Rend MacColl , and in the third of five talks he describes how they entertained Dean Acheson to lunch and discovered the origins of the Marshall Plan, which was launched to create a new prosperity In post-war Europe.
