One of its editors, the political scientist All Mazrui of Michigan University, argues that the project is a refutation of the Hegelian view of Africa as a continent without history, and discusses some of the central issues facing those involved in writing this major new work. David Piper. Director of the Ashmolean Museum at Oxford. talks about one of the two most famous views of Warwick Castle which Canaletto painted in about 1749 during his ten-year stay in England. Both. until recently threatened with being exported, are now being acquired by Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery.
