3: The Delights of Science
Dr Pyke suggests that although many people recognise the importance of expensive science and technology, such as that incorporated in nuclear missiles or computers, they stiill remain delighted by such simple processes as the twist of wa'ter down a plughole and the creation of electricity by rubbing amber.
