Three talks by Dr Magnus Pyke , Secretary of the British Association for the Advancement of Science.
2: Principles of Poverty and Style: ' Efficiency increases with each advancement of science, and consequential technology: which means that fewer people actually work, but produce more until in the end nobody does everything.'
Dr Pyke suggests that by using the great productivity of applied science appropriately. people might learn to enjoy conditions of poverty.

The Holy Sinner by PETER REDGROVE based on H. T. LOWE-PORTER 'S translation of the novel by THOMAS MANN (1875-1955)
The story of this play - a tale of sin, guilt and redemption - was taken by Mann from the medieval German epic poem ' Gregorius vom Stein ' by =Hartmann von Aue. and has been creatively structured for radio by a modern poet.
