This week at Liverpool's Alder Hey children's hospital, anaesthetist Fiona Reynolds finds her stamina pushed to the limit during 24 hours on call. She has to help deal with a 15-week premature baby needing an operation for a perforated bowel, then in casualty, is faced with a two-and-a-half-year-old girl with possible brain swelling after a fit in the bath. Also, six-year-old Nikita [text removed] is back for the latest stage in her cancer treatment.
A compilation of some of the stories of heroism and bravery previously shown in the programme which tonight includes a baby trapped in a bath who was rescued by demolishing a wall, an 11-year-old who knew exactly how to deal with a human fireball, and the fight to rescue a deer from a river. An armed robbery which left a cash delivery guard critically wounded and the rape of a young woman are among the cases Nick Ross and Jill Dando need your help with tonight.
Both crimes were committed in the Manchester area. On 22 January, two masked men robbed a van outside a supermarket in Baguley. The police have descriptions of the men and details of the cars used. On 29 January, a woman was returning from work when she was attacked and raped. An E-fit of a man seen in the area before and after the attack has been assembled. Will you be able to help?
