While the rest of the nation is preparing for Christmas, the staff of Holby City Accident and Emergency department are dealing with managerial skulduggery, an unseasonal bee-sting and the results of a jealous brawl.
Mark and Jane are involved in a furore when information concerning the hospital's future is leaked to the local press, while paramedic Josh faces a more immediate crisis when he has to perform a tracheotomy on Gerry, who has been stung in the throat by a bee.
Then along comes Giovanni, a love-struck pastry chef, reeling from a blow to the head with a bread board from his rival for waitress Eileen.
