The 100th ladies'singles final of the All England Lawn Tennis Championships.
Wimbledon record-breaker
Martina Navratilova would be a fitting winner, on course this year for her tenth singles title. But defending champion Steffi Graf has been favourite to claim her fifth Wimbledon singles crown. Last year she emphatically beat Monica Seles in the final, having defeated
Gabriela Sabatini in three sets to take the title the previous year. Can she now complete a hat-trick? Seles, of course, has been forced to miss Wimbledon after the stabbing incident in Germany earlier this year. Other opponents to Graf's recent domination of the championships include Arantxa Sanchez-Vicario , Mary Joe
Fernandez and Gabriela Sabatini.
Commentary by John Barrett , Virginia Wade and Ann Jones.
