The Dahlaks. There are 400 desert islands in the Red Sea, all waiting to be explored by the expedition. They are the home of graceful gazelles, fast falcons, land hermit crabs that have forsaken the sea for a life in open air, and colourful fiddlers that live between the tides. The mysterious mangroves reveal a strange water-bird, while the blooming underwater coral gardens house poster-coloured butterfly fish, and a manta ray, with a wing-span over 20ft, lives in a sunken ship. Noel Edmonds returns with the show that tantalises, titillates and tests TV trivia knowledge, using an array of classic clips.
"The eventual prize is not what motivates the competitors," says producer Richard Lewis. "The goodies are incidental - families come on the programme to show off their knowledge of television." Tonight, the Crones from
Coventry and the Woods from Northfleet in Kent are the first two families to compete for the 1992 Telly Addicts title. Director Graham Wetherell
