The message here is that women's football is no laughing matter. This is the story of two girl footballers who have gone to play professional football in Italy, where the women's game is taken as seriously as the men's. In the highly-charged emotional atmosphere of the Italian clubs, football is big business and the two girls react very differently.
Kerry, a prolific goal-scorer from the potteries, is lonely and feels like a fish out of water.
Rose, however, a strong player from Kilmarnock, is totally at home and has been made captain of her team.
The film explores the varying pressures on the two girls, which culminate in the first division match when their teams play each other.
