2: The Boaties by DOROTHY SMITH
Presented by Mark Curry
This week's 'treasure houses' are Britain's canals. They reflect not only a lost form of transport, but a forgotten way of life. The narrowboats decorated with their roses and castles, were home for the 'boaties' and their wives and children.

It was in Vichy that the great Gertrude Stein said: 'A talk show is a talk show is a talk show', and was then pelted with garlic. French enlightenment or a display of envy that Wogan is not screened in France?

Sulawesi: Island of Discovery Narrated by David Attenborough
There is just one island where you will find black apes, giant possums, pigs with curling tusks, green and tube-nosed bats, birds which bury their young and spectral tarsiers - real live 'gremlins'. It is
Sulawesi, where Asia meets
Australia, bringing together a unique and rarely seen variety of animals. These puzzled the famous naturalist Alfred Wallace more than 100 years ago, and today scientists are finding that there is still much more to discover; and some of these discoveries could even benefit us.

A History of Men in Battle M 13 parts
Presented by Frederick Forsyth
1: The Face of Battle
The battlefield is an arena of accident and chance. The opening programme of the series illustrates how, down the ages, the experience of battle has changed for soldiers in combat. It takes as its centrepiece the Battle of Waterloo.
Waterloo lies in the cockpit of Europe where for centuries armies from almost every nation have met and clashed, an area where Caesar fought with his Roman legions;
English archers defeated the French knights at Crecy and Agincourt; Marlborough won the Battle of Ramillies; the armies of the First World War died in the mud of the Flanders Fields. In 1940 the tanks and aircraft of the German blitzkreig swept past this ancient battle area. It is an appropriate vantage point to view the changing face of battle.
