Halina Edwards' first marriage ended after only six months when her husband was killed by the Gestapo during the Warsaw Ghetto uprising. She now lives in the beautiful Sussex village of Midhurst and in tonight's programme she tells how her teenage son helped her to overcome her hatred of all things German.
Geoffrey Wheeler also finds out about a local scheme to bring religious education to children in village and Sunday schools throughout this agricultural community. Local Christians join together in St Mary's Church, Easebourne, on the perimeter of Cowdray Park, famous for its polo.
