The first in a trio of Carry Ons starring Sidney James as Sir Sidney Ruff-Diamond, Kenneth Williams as the Khasi of Kalabar, Charles Hawtrey as Private James Widdle, Roy Castle as Captain Keene, Joan Sims as Lady Ruff-Diamond
India, 1895. In the North West Frontier province the villainous Khasi of Kalabar plans a rebellion against the Governor, Sir Sidney Ruff-Diamond. Only the presence of that dreaded Highland regiment, the Third Foot and Mouth, also known as the Devils in Skirts, can foil the Khasi's dastardly plot.

Young Dulcima Gaskain one day passes the squalid farm of miserly Mr Parker as he arrives home blind drunk. She helps him inside and later offers to clean out his farmhouse. Soon wily old Mr Parker is persuading her to be his permanent housekeeper - and something more-and Dulcima is cunningly getting all she can as payment while secretly meeting a handsome young gamekeeper.
