A historic event as Dame Mary Donaldson becomes the 656th Lord Mayor of London, the first woman to hold the office since its beginning in 1192. From beside St Paul 's Cathedral outside broadcast cameras cover the city's celebration, a two-mile procession with over 50 floats on Dame Mary Donaldson 's theme ' People Matter'. There are 15 bands, contributions from all three services and a special contingent from the Territorial Army to mark its own 75th anniversary.
The climax of the parade is the new Lord Mayor's first public appearance in the Golden Coach. Commentator ERIC ROBSON
