A series of eight films 5: Chopped
'As a boy I used to sit at the end of the runway watching the planes land and take off.'
Already in trouble before going solo, the first flying casualty finds the pressures building up. He becomes very good at everything except the landing. The last vital 300 feet before touchdown prove impossible for him to master. His eye and hand co-ordination are just not good enough to acquire the right instinctive feel, which all pilots need. He has to leave.
