from Jarrow
Jarrow became world famous 45 years ago on 5 October, when 200 people set off with a petition to march almost 300 miles to the House of Commons in London.
Sam Rowan returns to the spot where the march began, to tell Geoffrey Wheeler about his memories of the famous crusade against unemployment and poverty.
Sam gathers with other towns-people to sing some of their favourite hymns in the church where the Venerable Bede worshipped 1,300 years ago; St Paul's.

starring Charlton Heston
Richard Boone , Rosemary Forsyth Normandy in the 11th century When Chrysagon, a Norman war lord, comes to the isolated Druid village he has been assigned to oversee, he finds the villagers as primitive and steeped in ancient tradition as the desolate land that is their home. Franklin Schaffner 's fine film is a far cry from the usual Hollywood saga of the Middle Ages; his direction, an intelligent script and some masterly colour photography combine to produce an entirely convincing re-creation of a distant period and people. As the war lord, Charlton Heston gives one of his best performances.

John Bunyan (1628-1688)
Great preaching has changed the course of British history, and great preachers were the celebrities or public enemies of their day. This is the last of four dramatic reconstructions of sermons delivered by great preachers. starring with Sermon written by DENIS SHAW and based on the writings of JOHN BUNYAN Introduced by Colin Morris
' Brothers and sisters - this be an " unlawful assembly" to which you have come. As I could go to the gallows for speaking to you, so you, for hearkening, might be brought to the stocks or seared with the branding iron. If there be any here whose heart quails at this, then go now!'
