The Show
Crufts may be just two weeks away but continuously throughout the country there are local dog shows and competitions taking place in village halls and community centres.
Stanley Dangerfield looks in on one of these competitions in a Surrey village. He assesses the role of the Judge, what makes a Show Dog, and, of course, the chances of the competitors, some of whom soon will be showing in vastly different surroundings -the big ring at Crufts.

The Duke of Wellington at Home
' After all, Home you know. is what we must look to in the end.' After the Battle of Waterloo, the Duke of Wellington had never owned a settled home of his own. and when the grateful country gave him £600,000 to buy a country house, he chose Stratfield Saye, 30 miles from London. He put in central heating and water closets; and Copenhagen, the horse he had ridden at Waterloo, was installed in the stables.
