A film about Francisco Goya 1746-1828 with Esperanza Malkin
Vallentin Conde and the voice of Colin Blakely as Goya
Goya's etchings suggest the theme of a performance where the actors' roles change from day to day, selected by a force beyond their control. This Omnibus film, made during a fiesta in modern-day Spain, tells Goya's story - part of it fact, part fiction, rumour and contradiction.
The violence, the politics, the sexuality in his work, the ambiguities in his own personality, are all part of this masquerade. Readings by DUDLEY FOSTER , MALCOLM HAYES
Brilliant insight into Goya's imagination. (DAILY TELEGRAPH) Splendid Omnibus, full of vitality, as measured as the ritual of a bullfight.
