The Wildlife Unit of the Australian Broadcasting Commission travelled throughout Australia capturing on film the wide range of wildlife in the natural settings of their continent for this new six-part series.
With them went Dr Douglas Dorward, Senior Lecturer in Zoology at Monash University, Melbourne, a specialist in animal behaviour and ecology, who acts as narrator, and Australian artist John Olsen, painter of the giant mural in the new Sydney Opera House, whose sketches and paintings on location vividly capture the grace and beauty of the bird life.
