Wide screen adventure with Big John in his greatest roles John Wayne stars with Eiko Ando, Sam Jaffe
Once again Wayne finds himself in Japan, but this time it is not war but peaceful co-operation which brings him to Eastern shores. The date is 1856 and he is the first American diplomat to take up residence in the country. Director John Huston captures magnificently the opulence of the Shogun's court and the colourful way of life in the tiny port of Shimoda.
