An adventure serial in four episodes.

Episode 1 showed a derelict old house being used as a hideaway by three youngsters; the sudden appearance of mysterious intruders and the introduction of all sorts of mayhem... Viewers were asked to tell us what it was all about, and the idea chosen from our postbag duly became Episode 2. Last week we again asked for your ideas for Episode 3, and tonight you can see the enactment of the idea chosen and hear the name of the person who gave it to us.

Watch tonight's episode very carefully, because we want you to tell us how to end this story - once and for all-next week. The best idea opened first will be the one used, and all ideas should be in by the second post on Wednesday. Write to: Ramshackle Road, [address removed] We'll carry on from there - next week, live!
Parts played by: Timothy Bateson, Christopher Benjamin, Denis Gilmour, Linda Jolliff, Malcolm McFee, Trevor Martin, Michael Zorba

A special television show to celebrate 200 Years of Circus.
Introduced by John Witty.

In 1768, in London, Philip Astley gave trick riding displays, and from that small beginning modern circus grew. The riding act is still the very essence of circus and today, in a ring 42 ft. across - exactly the same size as that established by Astley 200 years ago - this tradition is continued by The Svensons.

Other more recent acts, and some far older than circus itself, include:

The Whirling Wheels of the Bicycling Biasinis

Swaying Clown aloft on a high, swaying lamp-post, an astonishing display of balance by Fattini

Jungle Giants - Indian elephants presented by Billy Smart Jr.

Double Backward Somersault on the bouncing rope - the incredible Jose Herasio

Clowning Around with piano and bagpipes the irrepressible master of mime Don Saunders

It's An Upside-Down World for the hand-walking, roller-board balancing Weldens

Budgerigar Circus presented by Norman Barrett

Fabulous Foot Juggling - Italian brothers juggle with each other and bounce from a baby trampoline - The Albertis

A swinging, smiling, dancing, riding Chimpanzee - Gilbert and Partner

Diving into Space from a trapeze above the ring - split-second timing is vital to
The Daring Palacys

(Billy Smart's touring Circus is now appearing at Kettering)
