Sense and Sensibility in School Building
Mr. Tatton Brown has recently returned from a ten-weeks' stay in America, where he found standards and aims in school building very different from our own. Because of the much greater variety, he says, due to an almost complete absence of central direction, their practical solutions are often novel and suggest the need to re-examine some of our own accepted standards if we are to retain our present lead.

A scene from the Oedipus Tyrannus of Sophocles (lines 224-512)

A single detail from a great painting may reveal some of the most significant images or motifs of the whole work. This passage from the Oedipus Tyrannus is presented in this light. It is, in fact, more than an isolated scene, for in this first clash between king and prophet Sophocles traces in miniature the curve of the whole tragedy.
