Part 1
by Wayne C. Booth
This is a reply to the talk 'The Future of the Humanities' by J.P. Corbett. Mr. Corbett argued that the traditional forms of university instruction in the Humanities are due for a 'fundamental reorientation': they must adjust themselves to the needs of students whose education will have been mainly scientific.
Dr. Booth is an American scholar and educationist at present working in this country.
Part 2
Illustrated talk by H.U. Beier
Mr. Beier recorded the illustrations for this talk while he was living with the Yoruba and Ishan peoples of Western Nigeria. The songs range from lullabies, singing games, and nonsense songs to the songs of the various children's societies - such as the Egbe, the Yoruba spirit children.
