This is a reply to the talk 'The Future of the Humanities' by J.P. Corbett. Mr. Corbett argued that the traditional forms of university instruction in the Humanities are due for a 'fundamental reorientation': they must adjust themselves to the needs of students whose education will have been mainly scientific.

Dr. Booth is an American scholar and educationist at present working in this country.
