Reflections on some of the published and unpublished Dead Sea Scrolls: by John Strugnell
The speaker is one of the team of scholars engaged in preparing the first edition of the more recently discovered manuscripts. In his talk he considers the way in which this new evidence may modify some of the views that have been advanced about the place and significance of the Qumranite sect and its writings. He cites as examples some problems of Old Testament textual criticism and some of the Qumranites' beliefs about the Messiah.
One of the recent publications referred to in this talk is "The Dead Sea Scrolls" by John Allegro.
