Kingdon-Ward , who has been responsible for reintroducing many of them to the gardens of this country, describes an expedition to Mount Vic toria in Burma, from which he and his wife have recently returned.

Anancy, the famous spider of West African folklore, was taken to the West Indies by the slaves. In later Caribbean society he is found to have moved from the forest to the town. He has become a sophisticated ' smart-man,' as this story shows.
