' Gypsies'
This programme is an effort to present in sound and narration the story of the Gypsy tribes in general and the Gypsies of England in particular. From the greatest area of their concentration in the far plains of Hungary, the roving Gypsy bands have wandered to all four corners of Europe-dark-skinned, clannish folk, with an abundant culture and custom of their own. It is unlikely, however, that every caravan seen in an English lane contains true Gypsies, and the programme will endeavour to discuss how many of our English nomads are genuine. The broadcast will be conducted to the singing of Gypsy music, the relating of Gypsy custom, and the talk of Gypsy folk who will be present in the studio to describe the lives they lead.
