From the point of view of a Governess
Listeners have already heard what three very different people think about children: a father, who sees so little of them; a mother, who sees so much of them ; and a toymifker, who, as he himself said, regards himself in the light of a Santa Claus. Today listeners are to hear a talk by a governess who sees as much of children as a mother does, yet sees them very differently. Next week listeners are to hear in what light children are regarded by a bachelor.

The Perennial Shakespeare H. GRANVILLE-BARKER
The second National Lecture to be given this year. and the twentieth since National Lectures were inaugurated in 1929, is to be broadcast by one of the most versatile and distinguished men the modern stage has known. Actor, dramatist, author, producer, manager, Granville-Barker did brilliant work in the heyday of the Stage Society before joining Vedrenne and giving to the world, among other things, the best of Bernard Shaw.
He has taught and shown throughout his career that in Shakespeare it is Shakespeare that matters — the words and not scenery or pretty pictures ; and his productions of The Winter's Tale, Twelfth Night, and A Midsummer Night's Dream, at the Savoy will long be remembered.
