In this new series listeners are going to hear all about an English village, thanks to the intelligent curiosity of a boy called Robin who has lived all his life in a town, but not long ago came to live in the country-with his uncle on a farm near the village of Stanwellstead. Because Robin is intelligent he wants to find out all he can about his new home, the things to be seen, the nicest walks, the occupations of the villagers.
Listeners will hear what the post-man has to tell him and what he learns from ' the innkeeper, the policeman and the blacksmith, the schoolmaster and the vicar, and especially from old Gaffer Brown. You will like Gaffer, who is so old that he can remember things that happened years before most people in the village were born-at least, that is what he says

This new series, planned on similar lines to its popular predecessor ' Five O'Clock ', will have a slightly more feminine interest and perhaps strike a rather lighter note. Occasional talks will be included on such fascinating topics to women as fashion and the care of the skin and hair.
Maisie Marshall, who sets the ball rolling, gave a talk on fashion" through the ages in ' Five O'Clock' last April. In her undergraduate days she acquired a reputation for making dresses, properties, and scenery for various dramatic activities at Lady Margaret Hall. She organised and produced Arthur Bryant 's pageant of St. Fridesiuide's Fair at Oxford, and has done the same kind of work for every kind of pageant he has written since. She has made a name for herself as a designer and maker of costumes for pageants and ballets in cities as far apart as London, Melbourne, and Johannesburg.

Arthur Sandford (pianoforte)
Born in London, Arthur Sandford studied at the Royal Academy of Music, where he won many distinctions, including the Sir Michael Costa Scholarship , Dove Prize, Charles Lucus Prize , and the coveted Mendelssohn Scholarship for composition, the first holder of which was Sir Arthur Sullivan. Mr. Sandford has had a wide musical experience, for in addition to practising the serious side of the art, he has appeared as solo pianist on the music-halls, in Debroy Somers ' Band, and in several popular musical productions. In 1923 he received the Gold Medal of the Worshipful Company of Musicians, and in 1934 he joined the staff of the BBC as pianist in the Variety Orchestra.
