JOHN HILTON
For the past two years John Hilton has been broadcasting every Tuesday afternoon, except for short holiday breaks, about ' This and That', and has left hardly any aspect of human affairs untouched. Listeners who have been able to hear him in his day-time talks have learned to respect and trust him for his deep insight into the daily joys and perplexities of ordinary men and women.
In this new series of fortnightly evening talks he is going to tell listeners about some of the difficulties that beset us in our daily contacts with neighbours, employers, officials, and others, and he hopes to be able to keep the series lively and up-to-date with the help of correspondence from listeners telling him of their troubles.

C. G. Graves, Controller of Programmes
Last week in the Autumn Number of The Radio Times a survey was made of all the BBC activities that are now going on in preparation for autumn broadcasting. As listeners know, there are to be more News broadcasts, fewer fixed times for weekly features, alterations in Sunday programmes, and so forth.
In a talk tonight Mr. Cecil Graves, BBC Controller of Programmes, is to deal with general programme arrangements, and to explain some of the reasons for the changes that are to be made; and in a further broadcast talk on October 1 he will discuss in more detail the forthcoming programmes of the various departments.
