Cecil Forsyth was born at Greenwich in 1870 and educated at Edinburgh University and at the Royal College of Music under Stanford and Parry. Before the war Mr. Forsyth was well known in London as a viola player in the Queen's Hall Orchestra, and as a composer of comic operas. He has also written several books on music, among which is a standard work on orchestration. In 1914 Mr. Forsyth joined the American music publishing firm of H. W. Gray and went to live in New York, where he has since remained.

ANTHONY HURD
The farming talks this season are to he given by Anthony Hurd, one of the younger generation of farmers. It is ten years since he started farming on his own account near Marlborough in Wiltshire, but ten years is no time in the life of a farmer. He has taken a full part in the agricultural activities of the county, having been chairman of the county branch of the National Farmers' Union three years ago. He is now a member of the Council, also chairman of the Wiltshire Federation of Young Farmers' Clubs.
Combining journalism with farming Anthony Hurd has been Farm Editor of The Field since 1924, and later he was appointed Agricultural Correspondent of The Times. Monday's agricultural page is a feature well-known to many farmers and towns-people. They will from now on be listening to him on the air on Monday evenings.
This evening, in his second talk, he is to discuss farming in Sweden where he spent some time last month.

A Commentary on the Early Stages of the World's International
Championship by J. E. HOLDSWORTH from the Empire Pool and Sports
Arena, Wembley
For the second time the International Six Day Cycle Race is being held in this country. It started this morning at one minute after midnight and finishes at midnight on Saturday, September 26. This is the first time the race has been broadcast.
Each country's team consists of two members who take it in turn to keep the race going. At intervals the competitors take part in sprints of I Mile or more for special prizes.
Tonight, and again on Saturday,
J. E. Holdsworth will tell listeners how the race is progressing and describe any of the sprint races that may be taking place.
