This is the first of a series of talks by Lord Elton on the theme: What is a great man?' He will give short biographical accounts of men of whom we have all heard, with the idea of provoking listeners to consider what constitutes true greatness.
This week he begins the series by asking ' What are we looking for ? ' Next week he will discuss Nelson, and later talks will deal with. Wellington, Cromwell, Shakespeare, Gladstone, Disraeli, and Keir Hardie among others.
