Appeal on behalf of Toc H by Barclay Baron, O.B.E.
Contributions will be gratefully acknowledged and should be addressed to Barclay Baron, Esq., O.B.E., Toc H, [address removed]
The few men-Barclay Baron was one of them-who started the Toc H movement with ' Tubby' Clayton in the early twenties could not have foreseen that what grew out of Talbot House, Poperinghe, in wartime would today be a significant influence in industry, public life, church life, family life, and society in many parts of the world.
There are 1,600 Toe H Branches for men and women in this country, with seventeen houses for young men starting out in life, and Services Clubs in Germany, Cyprus, and Gibraltar. Toc H encourages voluntary service of all kinds by getting its members to work together for others. They help thousands of lonely, underprivileged, and handicapped folk every year to live happier and more interesting and useful lives.
Funds are required now to strengthen what is already being done and to develop new activities and new branches where they are urgently needed.

A series of three talks by men who have all shown a great tenacity for life in conditions of duress
3-Accepting a Disabilityby David Atterbury
How to renew daily one's desire to live to the full in spite of pain and severe handicap is the problem which confronts the partial paraplegic. An accident in a tank during wartime training caused David Atterbury to become paralysed from the waist down. But in spite of his disability he has evolved a philosophy which has proved the main-spring of an active attitude to life.

A conversation between
Anthony Crosland
Author of ' The Future of Socialism* and Sir John Wolfenden, C.B.E.
Vice-Chancellor of Reading University and formerly Headmaster of two well-known Public Schools
There has lately been evidence of revived interest in the role of the Public Schools. Most of the controversy concerns the basis on which their pupils are selected. In particular, should the main criterion continue to be the capacity of parents to pay? Mr. Crosland believes that it should not, and suggests an alternative.
