The Vagabond of Song
This popular artist has broadcast, recorded, and sung in Berlin, Barcelona, Paris, New York, and London. He was in Spain until the revolution broke out. To get his fare back to England, he sang outside the big hotels and cafes.
Few have had a more varied career.
He won an operatic scholarship at the R.C.M.; has sung in opera at Covent Garden and the Old Vie, in operetta at the Gaiety and Lyric, and has made records under a number of different names. He made a new name for himself on the air as ' The Vagabond Lover ', and has been described as radio's most romantic personality.
