Live from the Royal Albert Hall, the English Concert is directed by violinist and conductor Andrew Manze with sopranos Emma Bell and Ailish Tynan, mezzo Catherine Wyn-Rogers and violinist Rachel Podger.

The Baroque gems include Handel's My Heart Is Inditing, one of the coronation anthems he wrote in honour of George II; three arias from Arne's opera about ancient Persia, Artaxerxes; and Bach's popular concerto for two violins, which brings the first half to a close.

Jean-Fery Rebel's depiction of chaos from Les Elemens and Vivaldi's exuberant Gloria conclude proceedings.

During the interval presenter Stephanie Hughes talks to guests and some of the musicians taking part in the Prom. Also broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and streamed live at www.bbc.co.uk/proms.

Arab broadcaster al-Jazeera is notorious for relaying the pronouncements of Osama Bin Laden to the world. But is it really an anti-American mouthpiece for Islamic terrorists? This thought-provoking documentary follows the station's reporters and producers as they cover the recent war in Iraq. In interviews they give their views on freedom of speech, media manipulation and criticism of the West, while American journalists tell of their own particular pressures. In the midst of it all, the young US military press officer John Rushing does his level best to understand the Arab viewpoint while also trying to defend the US military action in every possible way.
