1.100 on their products. But the overwhelming response led to parliamentary questions, bad press and disgruntled customers - some of whom even hijacked Hoover vans.
Eventually 220,000 people did fly, but the case created a huge vacuum in Hoover's profit margin. Tom Baker narrates the story of arguably Britain's worst marketing disaster.
