Continuing the series in which financial expert Alvin Hall helps people to regain control over their finances.
Wai-Yeun Lai has few lessons to learn when it comes to spending, as the 29-year-old's combined credit- and store-card debt of L30,000 bears witness. Her Cardiff flat is a shrine to shopping, containing dozens of unopened bottles of perfume, hundreds of CDs, videos and magazines, and even 60 unopened packets of tights. Tonight's monetary makeover involves Hall trying to uncover why Lai has a problem with her spending before he advises on ways in which she might control her impulses. Series editor Daisy Goodwin : Senes producer Richard Farmborough (S) (W) CEEFAX: page 615: Website: www.bbc.co.uk/yourmoney

The semi-final line-up will be complete tonight as the remaining world-championship quarter-finals near their conclusion. Introduced by Dougie Donnelly.
It was at this stage last year that Scotland's
John Higgins , world champion in 1998 and current UK titleholder, achieved a remarkable feat while defeating
Anthony Hamilton 13-3 with a session to spare. Along the way to reaching the last four for the third successive year, he won all eight frames in a session and racked up a combined aggregate score of 485 without Hamilton potting a ball, the highest for any ranking event and only two points short of the all-time record.
